We were asked by a client to undertake the management of the trees in his garden. The garden is in a conservation area so my first job was to meet with the client and discuss what the appropriate tree works would be in order for him to maintain his garden but also care for the environment which his garden is part of. The trees to be worked on were largely situated on the bank which led down to the River Tamar.
Due to the location of the trees on the bank it would be very difficult and costly to manoeuvre all the cut trees back up the bank and through the garden. We therefore decided to gain access to the beech. We drove onto the beech with our big 8’’ chipper in the morning at low tide, so that we had a full day to work before the tide came back up. There was only one way in and one way out of the beech so we had to turn the truck and chipper around. Unfortunately while doing this the chipper sunk down into the mud and got stuck. Fortunately though the truck is fitted with a winch so we managed to quickly get unstuck and winch ourselves to safety.
Firstly, may I say a Big “Thank You” to you and your team for a job well done. Not only for the main job of doing the trees, but for clearing up the debris afterwards. I went down to start the cleanup process myself, and was literally ‘Stunned’ at what I saw. You would not have known I had ever had any tree works completed in the garden! Not only that, but you had also cleared the steps for me down to the beach, so again, thanks!
